Prayer Life

The school’s prayer life is seen as an opportunity to build and strengthen community around our shared values.

Our prayer life is an opportunity for the school community to come together in conversation with God and through reflection take action to make our school and world a better place.

We believe our conversation and relationship with God is two-way, so that, as well as speaking, we create moments and opportunities for silence and reflection. Through our actions we show we have heard and more importantly listened to the word of God.

As a school we aim to provide varied opportunities for children to develop a relationship with God and / or reflect on core messages, be they Christian, from other faiths or of no faith.

These opportunities include:

    • Daily opportunities to pray and reflect. Our normal routine includes prayers at the start of the day, at lunch time and at the end of the day.
    • Daily acts of worship or celebration and praise.
    • Being willing to take on the responsibility to be a pupil prayer leader. As part of this leading weekly class worship or supporting school masses.
    • Joining parish masses as a class or as part of the whole school.
    • Participating in spontaneous prayer or meditation and mindfulness.
